The Dow Energy Award 2005
The Dow Energy Award 2005 is awarded to Peter de Kok. Peter has worked for 27 years for the Dutch truck manufacturer DAF Trucks in Eindhoven. As chief engineer of DAF Trucks Engine Development he is responsible for the durability, performance and emission reduction of DAF Diesel engines. During his long career, Peter managed to keep DAF Trucks at the forefront of engine development. Also due to his efforts, the company has successfully managed to further reduce exhaust gas emissions and fuel consumption, thus significantly contributing to a cleaner environment. It is for this reason that Peter receives the Dow Energy Award 2005.
Dissertation Award winners 2005
The Dow Dissertation Awards 2005 were awarded for research into the sustainable use of energy and sparing the environment. The award recipients were:
- Dr. Ir. Lucas Seghezzo for his dissertation "Anaerobic treatment of domestic wastewater in subtropical regions".
- Dr. Norbert Cabrera for his dissertation "Recyclable all-polypropylene composites: Concept, properties and manufacturing".
Norbert Cabrera passed away in September 2005 as a result of a tragic accident.
